Square Dance
This is an old movie I found on some square dance moves. I thought I’d share it with everyone.
I joined a club and took up square dance lessons a couple of years ago. It was a really good decision for me. It’s such a lovely social activity, and really good exercise, so it’s well worth the money.
It took me quite a while to achieve any kind of proficiency since I was away a lot of the time and missed lessons, but I have the basics of mainstream square dancing pretty much down now and feel quite comfortable most of the time. We all make mistakes, even some of the seasoned dancers. Everyone in class is so kind, helpful and encouraging with those who are learning, that it is a real blessing.
I have the privilege of dancing with men every week in a good environment. If my husband had been alive, he would have been my partner, if we would ever have discovered this activity together. The ladies who have partners are very good about sharing them, and in square dance, you dance with almost everyone anyway. There is always some exchange of partners taking place during each tip. There are opportunities to meet new people at regular dances at other clubs up and down the island, and club members also visit other clubs periodically.
All in all, I’d recommend it to anyone.
