Be Anxious For Nothing
July 3, 2015
Philippians 4:6&7
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants (needs) known to God.
And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 AMP)
Thinking about Jimmy Pielle, one of the street people who passed away, and remembering how he would get up and speak out for the Lord at the soup kitchen, how he would pray. It seemed that he loved his Lord with all his heart and mind and soul, even though he had life problems and was living on the street. You could sense his deep relationship with God. It was not a surface thing, but something he lived and moved in, despite his situation, and he wanted to share it with others. So he would get up and talk boldly to the other street people, and pray out loud.
Sometimes I think I am not bold enough, especially when I’m feeling that God wants me to say something. Many times this has happened now and I either don’t get the opportunity to say something or I do not take it. So then I must write, like this, because I must TELL!
Sometimes I am filled with anxieties in this day to day life and I forget to talk to God, to pray. God spoke into my life through a little devotional that comes in my email, and that’s what made me remember Jimmy, and his boldness, his confidence, despite his circumstances. I will share the devotional here now and later I will share a recording of Jimmy saying a prayer that meant a lot to him. Please listen, after reading this short devotional, and catch a glimpse of this special man.

In a nutshell….
Turn to God
Pray about it all
Give thanks in everything
Know His Peace in it all
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)

Here is Jimmy Pielle now, saying a prayer (DMX Prayer V1) he had memorized, and I’m sure it’s one he tried to live by and to share with others.
LYRICS: DMX Prayer V1
In the name of Jesus
Father please walk with us through the bad times as well as the good, may we be heard and understood from the suburbs to the hood
May You judge us by our hearts and not by our mistakes, and see that we get a breakthrough however long that it takes
May You fill that void in our souls that will lay our fears to rest, cause there’s no way we can live for Jesus when we’re living in the flesh
So I pray that You allow our spirits to be born, grow strong, move on, know right from wrong
First John chapter 2 verse 15: Do not love the world or anything in the world
And we know what that means, but listen, we know the distance we need to be away from fire to keep it missing, but that doesn’t mean we’ll listen
Lord You take care of fools and babies, You teach women to honor their men, and men respect their ladies, but lately, so many of us have gone astray, doing wrong for so long that we’ve forgotten the way
Please bring us back home instill in us the word which is our backbone
We’re just children that act grown
There is so much that we are entitled to yet we will receive so little, cause in this time of spiritual warfare we are comfortable in the middle
So I pray that You open our eyes, give us the anointing to recognize the devil and his lies
If we keep our actions wise, our prayers sincere, and our heads to the sky, You will diminish our fears
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed
Amen and Amen

Today, as I sing and play accordion at the Lighthouse soup kitchen, I’m remembering this man and his impact on others in this life he lived.
May your memory live on, Jimmy!

AJ
Amen!

When I tried watching the video again, it said it was restricted and showed a different video of the lyrics, perhaps performed by the original speaker, so you may or may not, see Jimmy Pielle in the clip.

Reblogged this on A Call for Mercy and commented:
I know that the poor have great faith and depend daily to meet there needs. Do we (ones who are rich) so depend on Him as much as these.

Thanks for the reblog!
I appreciate that 🙂
Simple faith seems to come easier at times without the trappings of material riches……
I hope you got to see this man Jimmy in the video….
