A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

Day 3 of Proverbs

Day 3 of Proverbs, March 6, 2013

Verses 1-18 of Proverbs 3 are going into my mind like hits of comfort and healing. Reading those is like all the sweetness of coming home. How precious! A blessing to experience! Good medicine for the soul!

Then comes a challenging “do not”. Challenging for me to think about anyway! Verse 27……

“Withhold not good from those to whom it is due [its rightful owners], when it is in the power of your hand to do it.” (Proverbs 3:27 AMP)

This verse talks about how we should not withhold good from those to whom it is due. To whom is my goodness due? I had to think about that for a minute.

Reading on, it speaks about my neighbour. Now I can ask that age old question “Who is my neighbour?”,  like the man in Luke 10: 29 who simply wanted to justify himself, or I can know with certainty from the answer Jesus gave in Luke 10:30-37 that my neighbour is anyone out there who may need my love and care, or even my service.

I know I have been guilty of withholding good (Father, forgive me!). I have at times known what I ought to do, struggled with doing it, and just not done it, when it was in the power of my hand to do so. Guilty as charged.

Thank You, Father, for Your mercy, for Your forgiveness, for Your reproof, for Your Spirit to enable where I am weak! May I be willing to listen obediently to the nudging of Your quiet voice, because therein lies wisdom, rather than my own fear or laziness, wherein lies foolishness.

Thank you for Your grace, for Your love and for Your patience! /
