A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

An Attitude of Gratitude, Day 22

Day 22, An Attitude of Gratitude

Dec 22, 2012

Today I am thankful for prayer!

I got myself organized to go out to do some shopping today. When I went downstairs I checked the mail before I left, forgetting it was Saturday and there would be no mail in the box.

Then off I went, to two nearby stores, Thrifty’s and Dollar store.  Got some wrapping paper, gift tags, and all my food items for our Christmas Eve dinner. Felt pretty good about getting those things done.

Came home and found out I had lost my keys somewhere. I could not get in our secure building. I tried buzzing two people I know, but they were not home 😦

I saw a tenant but she refused to let me in because she did not know me, though I told her where I lived and who I was, and who my friends in the building were. I realized as I talked with her that it would not be much use to get in the building because I would not be able to get in the apartment anyway!

There is a penalty for losing keys and key replacement. I was worried about that too. So, I felt pretty frustrated and was very close to tears and then actually crying in complete frustration before I remembered to PRAY! Finally, I committed the situation to God and asked for His help in finding my keys.

That done, and feeling calmer, I went to Dollar store to check for keys. No keys found there. Then off to Thrifty’s, continuing to pray. I went to the customer service desk and asked about keys. They asked me to describe them, and they had them!

They were very wet….had been outside in the snow, but I was SO thankful to see them! Thank You, Lord!

It’s easy for me to get caught up in a situation and worry about things, but so great to give something over to God and then watch it all work out. This kind of thing has happened so often. This one was minor in comparison to some.

Once it was my cell phone, which was gone for a whole week, but was found. There are too many other kinds of situations to list here and now, such as being stuck alone in the middle of an isolated logging road in bad weather, or in a boat on the ocean.

God is always faithful and I have witnessed some small miracles. I just have to remember to PRAY!

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with  thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and  the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6&7 NKJV)

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV)
