A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

Day 9 of Proverbs

Day 9 of Proverbs

Proverbs 9

The Way of Wisdom and the Way of Folly

Two women: a wise woman and a foolish woman

Both call out to the simple and to those who lack sense or understanding. It is exactly the same call, but with totally different objectives.

Both call out to the simple, the confused, saying “Come taste what I have to offer “, but one, Wisdom, has an honestly well prepared, nutritious meal that leads to insight, health, life and freedom, and the other, the foolish woman, Folly, seductively offers tempting “stolen” food, an illicit “meal” that leads to a trap of sin and death.

This speaks to me of our choice in this life:

a.) to follow God, which is wisdom, health and spiritual life, and is true freedom, meant for our good and our well being, or………

b.) to walk in the ways of this world and the ruler of this world, in rebellion against God, which is planned only to our detriment, our entrapment, and leads directly to sin, separation from God and spiritual death.

Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin so that we might have the gift of eternal life, (“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10 AMP).

While on this earth, he prayed, knowing he would soon be leaving, interceding for his disciples and also for all who would come to believe in Him in the future through their word, the gospel or good news. That’s US!

He prayed for protection from the enemy, the evil one (“I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.” (John 17:15 AMP)

He continues to pray for us all today from heaven. (“Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them. (Hebrews 7:25 AMP)

Knowing these things, what will we do with our choices? When we choose Jesus, we choose wisdom and life in abundance, and we walk away from the seductions, tricks and ploys of our enemy, because Jesus prays for us. He empowers us to overcome the seductions of the enemy by the power of His Spirit, who lives within each one of us who chooses to follow Him.

Joshua said it well……

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. “(Joshua 24:15 AMP)

What will you choose today? The gods of your fathers? The gods of the land you live in? Or will you choose and serve the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul?

Choose wisdom…..
