Gratitude Journal….I love this idea. A friend of mine has been doing a Daily Gratitude Journal for the past month and I have been so blessed to read her daily notes of thanksgiving, so I am committed to trying this out for a month!
Here goes!
An Attitude of Gratitude, Day 1
December 1, 2012
Today, listening to sirens outside, I am thankful for the city services of police, ambulance and fire station. We are so blessed to be taken care of in this society and most of these services are but a phone call away.
Without them, many lives would be endangered or even lost. With them, I’m given reason to pray for an unknown event or person because I am alerted by the sound.
Sirens are something I never heard in the small community of Kyuquot, where I lived for so many years. I admit to being disturbed by these frequent noises when I first came to live here in town, but today I choose to be thankful for the reminder that life is sometimes short and difficult for many and we need to treasure our time and friendships with the people around us. I’m also reminded as I pray that a stranger is just a friend we haven’t met yet…..
