A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

“Poetry” Offering, #7, Longing

Longing

I looked at the chair

Where he had been sitting

And I missed his hands

And his gentle face

Such a powerful longing

Swept through my body

Like the delayed shock

Of a sudden bereavement

I wanted him in that chair

Where he had been sitting

I wanted his hands

And his gentle face.

And I missed him sorely.

Ann McQueen (now Justin), Oct. 25th, 1980

I wrote this poem before I was even with my husband James……

It feels apt once again, as I grieve his passing from this earth on March 31, 2006.

He passed away in the chair where he was sitting…….and I miss him so.
