Day 25, An Attitude of Gratitude
Dec 25, 2012
Today I’m thankful for God’s GRACE. Without it, life would be harsh. But God never intended for us to live outside of His grace.
Grace helps me to be kind in the face of adverse situations over which I have little control. Grace helps me to bear grievances with patience. Grace helps me to forgive and also to forget.
I am a very thankful recipient of the grace of God and this is the single reason I can offer grace to others. Grace cost God, and grace will cost me. Grace never comes cheap.
It cost Jesus His life. It will most likely cost me only my selfish pride. If I can get over my SELF, there I will find true life, the life of Christ. There I will find grace and there I will find the ability to become a person of grace.
God’s grace surrounds me and envelops me sometimes when I least expect it. The reality of it can overwhelm me and overcome me. I can no longer imagine what it would be like to live on this earth without it.
Do you know the grace of God in your life today? Do you know the full extent of His love for you?
At Christmas, we remember and think of the birth of the baby Jesus but we sometimes forget that He came to die for us, to make the way for us to be reconciled to God that we might live a new life in and through Him, by His grace.
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15 KJV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His GRACE, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His GRACE ” (Ephesians 1:3-7 NKJV)
Thank you, God, for this wonderful gift of GRACE!
