Day 11, An Attitude of Gratitude
December 11, 2012
Today I am thankful for the church!
My current local home church group in Campbell River is called Converge. It is a small but dynamic body of believers with a steady focus on the gospel and how it affects every area of life. CHALLENGING!
I’m thankful also for the Salvation Army church body in Campbell River, its outreach into the community and the opportunities I have to participate in those activities, such as song ministry at the Lighthouse, the local Senior’s Lodges and the Kettle ministry. A JOYFUL experience for me!
I’m thankful for the small church group in Kyuquot, where my husband and I were nourished in the word of God and excellent teaching for so many years. It was where my husband and I ministered together as missionaries and where I ministered after his death. It has been sad to leave that all behind, but the small group there continues meeting, so that is ENCOURAGING and INSPIRING!
The “church” is much more than a building where we meet. It is the body of Christ on earth, the body of believers wherever they are in the world, a huge family of God made up of all our brothers and sisters in Christ. That’s EXCITING!
“Church” can happen wherever we meet other believers, in our homes, and even on Facebook! I have had the privilege of meeting with so many brothers and sisters on Facebook who have shared their faith, taught others and prayed with and for me through trials and temptations. We have shared joy and pain. That’s AWESOME!
Church has been a BLESSING to me!
How about you?
