The Move.

Wow! I’m mostly moved, thanks to three of my friends who came over today to help. I was not sure I was going to be able to actually move anything today but the manager OK’d it and off we went! Time flew, things went next door, and all I have in here now is my bed, a dresser, and things in the cupboards. Some kitchen things too. Will sleep here tonight and do most of the rest tomorrow, probably!

That was so cool! Amazing!
So excited right now, and tired.

Monday, March 16

My neighbour George hung my curtains for me today, in living room and bedroom. It’s so nice to have privacy in the new place.

My nephew Sal brought me a cooked dinner (chicken and rice) which we ate happily at the table in my new dining room. Wonderful. Content to use my dining table in its own designated space, since could not do so in my old bachelor apartment. It was tucked into a corner over there, basically unusable, except as a depository for whatever came in the door.

My nephew Sal and my neighbour George moved my Captains bed into the bedroom in my new place today. I trotted back and forth, up and down the hallway with dishes and other kitchen things, and most of my clothes from the closets. My feet are very, very sore!

My son called me and asked to stay overnight as he was heading off to work in the morning. He arrived about 10:30 pm and ate some supper. We watched some Netflix, then he said he had to get up at 5 am for a ride. Hmmmm, time to get some sleep!

I went to bed, but first time in a new place, I could not sleep. Not one wink. It’s possible also that knowing my son had to get up in about 4 hours, and wanting to say goodbye to him, did not help the sleep situation. But it was so nice to have him here!

It’s 6:30 am, my son is long gone, and I still have not slept. There is more sorting and moving to do today. I’m happy that absolutely no packing was done, but everything so far was transferred over quickly and easily to the new apartment, especially with so many helping. I worried about the concept for well over a week, and then it just happened. A blessing!
