A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

In ALL Your Ways

In ALL Your Ways…….

March 17, 2014

Speaking to the ladies, but possibly also to the men. The ones who are struggling with the ins and outs, the ups and downs of a love life. The ones who have not found their mate. The ones who are looking again, for one reason or another. The ones who are struggling with feeling incomplete, feeling that something is missing, and thinking that it must be the man or woman they had, or the man or woman they are waiting for.

What’s really missing? What are these unfulfilled desires really all about? I wrote this for me, initially, and also for them, because, in my rather slowly dawning opinion, we are all missing the mark. We are missing what could be God’s best…..

Gave my love life over to the Lord just now. Not that there is anyone currently in it. Just in my dreams…..

I see how God takes care of me on a daily basis. Provides for me. Even for needs I have that I haven’t yet asked Him about. How could He NOT provide for my potential love life? I just have to TRUST him and stop walking in my own ways, but acknowledge Him in ALL of my ways.

God is just loving me and blessing me right, left and center and I am busy receiving. He is blessing me through others in my life. I feel His love through them in a very tangible way. Sometimes it brings me to tears…….

I’ve had to slow down because of a certain health condition. It has given me time and space to think and to see. Tonight I was reminded in my spirit about Proverbs 3:5, so I took the time to go read it again. I don’t know how many times I’ve read this before or how many times you have read it, but it’s all fresh again now, for me, tonight….

Here’s what it says:

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5, 6 AMP)

I’ve read it often…..thoroughly, meaningfully…..but also sometimes so glibly, and thought I “got” it. Did I really? Let’s take another look!

It says to lean on Him, to trust in Him and to be confident in Him. It says with ALL your heart and mind.

It says to know Him, to recognize Him and to acknowledge Him. It says in ALL your ways.

That’s pretty specific! It says our own understanding is not trustworthy, not reliable, and I can believe this. It certainly hasn’t given me personally any measure of satisfaction.

It says if we do this, (lean on Him, trust in Him and be confident in Him, with ALL our heart and mind, not relying on our own insights and understanding….if we will know Him, recognize Him and acknowledge Him in ALL of our ways) He WILL direct, and make straight and plain our paths.

That sounds simple and very straightforward. So why do we have such difficulty with it? Because we are not really willing to do that.

We may do it with SOME of our heart and mind, whenever it is convenient. We may do it in SOME of our ways, again, whenever it is convenient. We may even do some of it sometimes when it is not so convenient. But God wants it ALL.

He doesn’t want just some of us whenever it is convenient to us. He doesn’t just want it sometimes when we have inconvenienced ourselves. He wants the entire package! He wants ALL of our being, in EVERYTHING!

Now that’s something to dig deep and ponder on. That’s costly. That involves significant shifts in our thinking. It involves change. For some, it’s perhaps a whole new lifestyle……It says in ALL your ways.

God is in the business of changing lives. He is the expert and He has an unmistakable track record. He has proven Himself completely trustworthy.

So tell me, brother (if you happen to be reading this at the opposite end of the spectrum), and tell me, sister…….why would I waste another minute?

Today is another day, another opportunity to try to get it right….
