Crying Comes Suddenly
Crying comes suddenly
Brought on by thought, or memory
Stark realization
That you are no more
And there is nothing I can do to bring you back.
There will be no cards, no gifts,
No tender squeeze, no misty glance
No happy chuckle
As special moment is enjoyed
In shared love.
This is hard
I didn’t know it would be like this
The pain of loss
Final separation
From the one I chose to love.
Lord, help me embrace the pain
As a friend, to accept, to heal
Not as a foe, to run from and hide.
Perhaps, with time, sorrow will fade and pass
No more to be.
I love you, James.
