Becoming……

I originally wrote this for a post in Weight Watchers after achieving my goal and lifetime status in the program.

It was a journey of loss, loss of a different kind, a loss of becoming, and I wanted to try to illustrate the beauty in it both the before and after of it, using my dried flower pictures.

We are all beautiful in our own way. We are all treasures in different vessels…..

Our weight loss journey is a journey of loss that ends in something of a different beauty….

It’s difficult to endure change, sometimes, but it’s a vital part of living, growing and becoming. It’s a necessary part of life….

I love collecting flowers and petals. These pictures show part of my collection.

Flowers are beautiful in their fullness but they are beautiful in a different way when they have lost that fullness. They’ve changed but they retain their perfume.

At this end of my weight loss journey, I feel that I was very hard on myself right from the beginning, as are many others. Yes, I was overweight in my fullness, and I have been on this journey, slowly finding the me that was still inside.

I’ve changed, but I am still me.

Just in a different form ❤
