A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.

New Is Not Always Improved

Bye bye old, cozy, private, enclosed, protective porch…….I loved you ❤

Our building is undergoing an outside million dollar improvement project, which means we are getting our porches torn off and all outer windows and doors removed and replaced. I think it’s pretty crazy to spend such a large amount on the outward appearance of this building when so much needs to be done inside. But, who am I to say?

It begins………..

Someone is out there starting to dismantle my porch……

There it goes, piece by piece! 😦

Sneaked out when the guy took a break.

Hello neighbour!

I guess it’s not real safe to go outside any more. I’m thinking they will barricade my porch door soon…..just like they did to the others!

My nephew said he looked like a big Ninja Turtle out there, so here is a pic of the big, happy, flying-equipped (see his attached cable?) Ninja Turtle doing his job on the top floor of our building…..

And over it goes……look out below!

The view of the neighbours is improving, I guess 😉

Not sure about this!!!!!

Some of these porches have been installed already. Get ready for the highly public, open work (railings), open to all the elements and open to the big bank of windows I face, so called new and improved porch 😦  Here is a current pic of the work:

Here is a before pic for comparison…..

New porches will look pretty, no doubt, but that’s about it. They will be open to neighbour’s view on all sides, open to full heat of a relentless sun, the blowing of sometimes  fierce wind, and the wetness of ofttimes driving rain. Some of the older people who have the new porches already find them scary, due to the openness and exposure to the height!

I guess, for myself, I better just praise the Lord for the new and improved million dollar (literally) outside look 😉

Gripe over……working on my repentance 😉

Haha! 😉

AJ 😉

Before and after are so different, hard to tell which one I like best!

I have not put an after pic yet, but will soon. Some are done. I just could not find the pic I took, so I used a similar looking porch from somewhere on the web 😉

I too like the cozy look of the first picture. I’m glad we live in the country and have the final decision on any changes to our property.
