What am I?
December 16, 2014
Sometimes I wonder exactly WHAT I am….
Born in Scotland to English parents, a citizen of the UK. Lived in Scotland for 23 years.
Resident in Canada since 1972. That’s 42 years ago!
Married into Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nation in 1981, whereupon the Government of Canada officially made me a status Indian person in Canada.
Lived in Kyuquot, my husband’s home, on and off until 2011
Became an official citizen of Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations, as per treaty provisions.
You should see the fun I have trying to go back and forth between the UK and Canada, or trying to cross the border into the US. I have some stories to tell!
*Sigh. Sometimes I am confused and I wonder where home really is 😉
However, though I’m not always certain who I am in the eyes of this world, I do know this for sure….
By the grace of God, I am a citizen of heaven since the fall of 1980 when I put my trust in God through Jesus.
On my way to my everlasting home!
Thank You, Lord! /
AJ
PS. The plaque was made for my husband and I as a graduation gift by Jack Coy, a teacher at Key Way Tin Bible Institute. Wish I could find a clearer pic, but it’s the best I can do right now.
The plaque is pretty and I will be glad to see our true home. It will be so much better than this world. And this is a beautiful world if we would just take time to see it and appreciate it like we were meant to. 🙂
