Mistakes……

Sometimes in this life you will make mistakes. I have and I do.
Some people will ignore your mistakes and carry right along as if nothing happened. Is that just denial, or is it really mercy? I’m still trying to figure that out. There’s my mistake, still just sitting there…..a constant reminder.
Some people are like a big eraser and will just wipe you clean in one gentle but thorough swoop so that you can start over. The mistake was acknowledged and dealt with accordingly but you can no longer see or remember exactly where the error was.
Others are like a small pencil eraser and if the mistake is a really BIG one, they will try to erase it and may in fact eventually do so if they are very gentle and very patient. However, if they are not careful, and sometimes, no matter how hard they try, they may also end up leaving a bit of a dirty mess behind or even ripping the paper in the process. An attempt was made but that eraser was just not equipped to handle that big of a job.
Here’s the thing:
When we come to God in repentance, for forgiveness, He takes our “mistakes”, our sins, and casts them as far as the east is from the west. Try walking in one direction or the other. You will never come to the end of either the west or the east. That’s a picture of how perfect God’s forgiveness is towards us. He will remember them no more means exactly that.
So remember to take your mistakes, or your sins, to God, no matter how people around you react to them. All you can do is be as completely honest as you can and try to do the very best you can.
Open your whole heart to God and let Him deal with it. Experience His love and forgiveness. You will never regret doing so. He really cares, because He LOVES you.
Mistakes mean you are still human.
