Myrt Thompson Trail
Update: This was in my draft folder, waiting to be finished and published. Not done ’til today!!!!
Enjoy!

I enjoyed revisiting a short walk on the Myrt Thompson Trail with a different friend this year. I hope you enjoy the pics!

There is a problem with deterioration of the river bank now on a small section of the trail. It is, however, easily avoidable and hopefully will be fixed soon so that visitors can enjoy this walk in complete safety once again.

My eyes are always open for photo opportunities, possibly more so since joining in the guided Greenways Land Trust group walks for seniors where plants and birds of interest are pointed out and discussed. Interesting!

The river walk views were lovely. I took so many pics! The water was soothing, as usual. Lovely little bridges over streams. Benches with river views for sitting quietly and enjoying.

Plants were interesting. I don’t know many names but perhaps someone knowlegeable will inform me and then I can label pics. I did see wild roses and berries and even caterpillars!
There was a cute little lover’s seat built between two trees, complete with painted red hearts on the trees and carved hearts with initials in the tree bark. Views of the Spit.
Dog walkers, friendly hellos and the inevitable doggy greetings of sniffing, petting and wagging tails. I miss having a dog….
I took a video of two dogs and a floating stick which the owners wanted retrieved, but the dogs seemed relatively uninterested, opting instead to pay attention to each other…..
I enjoyed an oddly angled tree growing out of the brush horizontally, so that there was an interesting branch pattern to capture. Fascinating!
A leisurely walk back to the start, a shared dinner and dessert, and back to our respective homes.
It was a good day…..
Thanking God for walking friends and the ever unfolding wonders of His creation!
