Reblog: An Attitude of Gratitude, Day 4

I could not find the reblog button on this post, so had to do a cut and paste job instead!
Update: 5 years later, I now have a delightful grandson as well as my granddaughter. She is 12 and he is just a year old. I did not set eyes on him until the day after his very first birthday, when I hosted a party for him in my building. That was PRECIOUS!

Today I am thankful for family.

I did not think I could have children. I had watched people around me for many years having children, but for me, it seemed difficult. It just wasn’t happening.

I longed to hold a little one of my own in my arms, but doctors told us that our chances of child bearing were extremely slim. So it was not likely.

However, I prayed, God answered, and I have two boys, for whom I am very thankful. They have stretched me to the limits and I love them! They have grown into awesome young men, of whom I am very proud! I even have a wonderful granddaughter! I am so blessed!

I come from a family of 7 myself and I am glad for my Mom, who is still living, my Dad who passed away in 1987, and all of my brothers and sisters. They are all so far away, but there is nothing quite like family ties. Distance doesn’t seem to matter so much when we finally get together! And there is Skype!

I am also very glad for my family on my husband’s side. I am thankful for his immediate family, who have become mine, and they have faithfully put up with me for many years now!

I’m amazed by our larger extended family, which really is the whole of Kyuquot! His people have become my people over the many years I spent there! And it has been very good to get to know them and all of their strengths as a community. So many tears and so much laughter!

Then there is my church family, my spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ. I don’t know where I would be without them all. They have supported me, prayed for me, encouraged me, strengthened me and totally blessed me…..

I am RICH in family!

Thank You God!

AJ
