Remember the story of my missing keys?
It’s here: https://annofgg.com/2016/04/17/missing-keys/
In that story, I showed a pic of my special little nail clipper, the one that belonged to my husband’s Mom, and was a bit of a treasure to me. I had decided to carry it on my key ring because I had been unable to find a plain nail clipper with a little chain on it to attach to a key ring. They used to be all over in stores but now when I searched I only saw them without the chain.
I worried a little about the possibility of losing it, if I put it on the ring, but I did, and I hoped it would be ok. Then, guess what? I lost the keys!!!!!!
However, if you followed the link and read THAT story, you will see that I did find them. The little nail clipper was there, on the ring, safe and sound, thank goodness!
Well, to return to my new story, some time ago, I went to trim my nails and realized suddenly that the guitar decor on the clippers was gone!!!!! I was dismayed, because I could have lost it almost anywhere. What were the chances of finding it? Not very good.
This morning, I went down to the entry lounge of our building, where daily come and go coffee times are being held. It’s a lovely concept which is helping people in the building get to know each other a little better, and just to socialize a bit more.
I was down having a coffee, chatting a little with a few others. It’s always a nice time. Lots of laughs and conversation. People come and go for coffee and also people stop to say hi as they come and go in and out of the building on their various errands. Here are a couple of pics from a few days ago.
Today, a couple of ladies were helping someone move and as they passed, one of them handed something to the manager, saying something about music. I looked as he put it down on the table. That’s an odd shape for a guitar pic, if that’s what it is, I thought. Nice color though. I looked closer…..what IS that?
Wow!
It was the decor from my nail clipper! Kim, the lady who thought up the daily coffee time, told me that she had found it in the stairwell, and had set it on the notice board (I rarely look there). It must have fallen from its perch on the board onto the floor, where the lady spotted it this morning.
I’m so glad to have it back! Thanks, Kim! Now I have to figure out how to get it glued into place securely. That may take a while, but at least I have it ❤
Life, in all it’s wonderful twists and turns….

So glad you got it back! It is funny how those little treasures can mean so much to us. I had a little plastic shamrock pin with a happy face on it. It was not worth anything except the attention it gets when worn on St. Patrick’s day. But I had bought it for my Mom who was half Irish and she adored it. When she passed, I made sure I got it because it was something that made her smile. Through all my moves and life changes I lost track of it…until about a year ago as I was emptying a random bag of jewelry that didn’ make it into my case and there it was. Yes, these things definitely matter.
