Burning The Midnight Snack

Why is it that writing comes so much easier to me in the later or the “wee” hours of the night? I get totally absorbed and time just flies by. I was so busy I forgot I was cooking and did not realize I was burning the oatmeal right onto my pan on the stove…….

I finished writing, went around turning lights off, looked into the little pan sitting there on the stove (burner still on) with it’s strangely dried out, unfamiliar content, and thought “Eeeewe, what was THAT supposed to be?” Total memory relapse……
Burner is off. Pan with strange looking content is soaking sadly in the sink. So much for the late night snack, and maybe my pan 😦

Well, goodnight! ❤

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next morning….clean pot out.
Almost scared to look.
Wow……the extent of the damage!
And it’s STUBBORN!
A friend made a comment on my Facebook post:
“Put in 1/4 tsp baking soda and a cup of water and boil. it will take it right off 😀 ”
I decided to give that a try…..
Here is the result, caught in my sink strainer! 😀
No kidding! It basically just lifted right out! I’ve never had such an easy clean up!
Yay for friends with good ideas!
And guess what? I had oatmeal this morning without burning my pan……
AJ ❤
    I’ve always found it easier to write in the dark of the night when the world is silent and all there is to accompany me is the sound of the wind and creatures.
    I am so glad I read this! My husband forgot one of my favourite pots on the stove. He was boiling water in it on high and totally forget it. I found the empty pot on the stove with the glowing red burner. I have tried everything, including baking soda, but not boiling it. I will try that today!
    And by the way, I do most of my best writing in the night as well. I am awake a lot then because of my pain flares and lately coughing. So, I usually sit and check out other blogs or write for mine.
    Have a great day and so glad your pot is okay. There may be hope for mine 🙂
