A taste of FAITH, a touch of LAUGHTER.
Being Found in Him (originally posted as a note on my Facebook, )
Thoughts from today’s devotional reading (Our Daily Bread, Philippians 3:1-11) Just what came to mind as I thought especially about verse 9 and other scripture verses I love…..
It is only by the grace of God that I can be in Christ Jesus and remain in Christ Jesus. It is only possible by the finished work of Christ, by the shed blood of Christ, applied to my life, that I can BE in Him and STAND in Him. It is only by the completed work of the cross and the power of His Spirit within me that He can bring about His work of completion in me…………
May I “…… be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; (Philippians 3:9 NKJV)
Oh that I would be “found” in Him and Him alone! Oh that I would rest in His righteousness alone!
My failures are ever before me, but I know your love and forgiveness and I trust in You completely, Father, to bring about the changes needed in me!
“And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law’s demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.” (Philippians 3:9 AMP)
My life needs to point to Christ, not to myself! Cause me to walk in Your ways, Father!
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to YOUR name give glory, for Your mercy and loving-kindness and for the sake of Your truth and faithfulness!” (Psalm 115:1 AMPV)
Not to me, but to HIM! How will this be? How can this happen in my life? Not by my own striving and self efforts to make it so, but by a life of praise, thanksgiving and pointing to the One who CAN!
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, Says the Lord of hosts. “(Zechariah 4:6 NKJV)
Amen! AMEN! So be it!
Great and glorious promises for those who trust and believe in Him!
Forgive my personalization of the following verses ( in brackets). What would happen if this was our prayer both for ourselves and for others………..?
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you (and me) according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts (and mine) through faith; that you (and I ), being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you (and I) may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV)
God is able! He will DO it! In me, and in YOU!

PS: “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” (Philippians 3:12 NKJV)
“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” (Philippians 3:12 MSG)
God is not finished with me yet! 🙂
