When are you most happy?
This blogging prompt “When are you most happy” was timely!
I’m most happy when I am SINGING!

I used to have many opportunities to sing, in outreach ministries (seniors’ residences, church services, Salvation Army Lighthouse lunches for the homeless, Salvation Army kettle shifts etc) but those opportunities vanished with the arrival of the lockdown regulations, vaccination and masking. That was very grievous for me….
I loved watching seniors and others responding to music and song. Sometimes I played accordion, but most often just sang with a group. It was great to see life coming into the seniors and others while they smiled, sang along and clapped. What a blessing! I sure miss that ministry!

It has been good to be back in church and singing worship songs again. I love to clap and sing! It gives me energy and makes me move! The words of songs speak deep into my heart and mind. Sometimes happiness is even more of a deep joy that settles quietly inside.
I’ve finally been able to do kettle shifts again this year, fundraising for the church, which does so much in the community, feeding and sheltering the homeless, operating the Thrift Store so people can afford to buy clothes and many other items. Ministries need support!
Tonight I joined the Serious Coffee group and had so much fun singing the Christmas songs with them. It was lovely to see the smiles on the faces of shoppers passing by, and their generosity! We paused for a pic….

Someone took a little video clip at the end of our 2 hour shift of singing, so here I am below clapping and singing, despite being tired from standing so long, and not having or remembering the words of a simple song and trying to see some fine print on someone’s book. Haha! Fun! People seemed to enjoy our attempts to entertain and fundraise anyway!

So, I enjoy singing, and it makes me happy!
That’s a good thing, I think!
How about YOU?
