Thinking about “scrambled eggs”.
“There is an old saying that says ‘You can’t unscramble eggs’ ; that is, you can’t go back and restore things just like they were at one time in the past……you need to commit your life not only to your present (situation) but to Christ. You need forgiveness for your sins and you also need his help to keep from failing in the future.”
(Originally from a Billy Graham article @ 1987 Tribune Media Services Inc., but adapted slightly)
There are some situations I would sometimes like to think about unacrambling, if it was at all possible, but it’s not. We have to live with our consequences. Sometimes that can be a real challenge.
The thing that helps me is that if my initial intentions were genuine, if I had an open and honest heart about my actions, and even if I am wrong, I have a loving Father in heaven, my Daddy God, my Abba Father, who is more than willing to restore me to a new wholeness, by the power of the Holy Spirit, if I am able to come to Him in genuine repentance and sorrow as soon as I understand what it is that I have done.
He knows my heart through and through, all of my shortcomings, all of my failings, and yet, He bestows all His love, grace and mercy upon me in my time of need. God loves me that much.
He loves you too. Have you called upon Him today? Don’t waste another minute…..
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
