I went on a free tour of a plush new local seniors retirement residence today. It’s a beautiful new building with all the amenities you could wish for. There is a central core atrium for viewing plants and pond from various areas and balconies up to the 6th floor. I did not take a pic of that area, unfortunately.
The tour included a wonderful group lunch in the spacious oceanside dining room. I enjoyed a lovely chicken salad and soup but there were other menu choices. We were plied with coffee, tea, juices and ice cold water through the the meal.
Flower arrangements at our table. Pretty!
On our tour, we saw the 34 seat theater/Sunday service room. Very impressive!
We also saw the recreation room complete with various machines and weights. Beautiful paintings on the walls.
The highlight was on the 6th floor, the indoor outdoor Tyee lounge with a fantastic view of the ocean, but there were numerous lounge areas throughout the building where you could enjoy a quiet read and a lovely view.
All in all, it was very interesting. We saw the well equipped library with a view, the spa room with a walk in jetted tub, the well equipped Bistro breakfast/snack area, computer areas, and the Fireside Lounge.
I took these two pics on my way out.
Altogether an interesting courtesy tour of a rather grand facility. Quite out of my price range with units ranging from $2,500 – $4,000 plus per month, but a lovely peek at another world 😉

Beautiful place. Must be for the rich and famous. 😀 I couldn’t afford it either.
